I am a freelance photographer. Photography is a creative outlet for enjoyment and expression more than anything else. I photograph a limited number of events, portraits and freelance projects as time allows. It puts a little bit of spare cash in my pocket and gets me out of the house to meet and mingle with new people. Event Photos - Sports, family reunions, plays, special events

Do you wish you had time to make sure someone was getting great pictures at your event? If I am available, I'd be glad to help out. I've shot Little League games, school plays, ceremonies, family reunions and a variety of other events. You tell me who you want me to focus on and I will deliver numerous shots of  them in action. The cost is $50 per hour with a one hour minimum plus 45 cents a mile if I am traveling outside of Portland. After I shoot your event, you will receive a packet of 8 to 10  of the best shots as 4x6 photos. Also  I will upload all the shots to Shutterfly and you will be able to go online and order as many pictures and sizes as you like at reasonable prices (4x6 prints are as low as 3.00 each!).  If it is a public event (school play, sporting event, etc.) and I generate $100 in sales from others at the event, I will refund you $50.00 and you still get your individualized shots and online proof gallery.

I shoot a limited number of portraits, as time allows. I like portraits that reveal personality so be sure to bring who you are to your sitting. If you play an instrument, bring it. Sports? Bring some equipment. Like horses? Let's go to the barn. Also bring 2-3 outfit changes.

Because I do this for pleasure and am not relying on this to put food on my table, my rates are MUCH lower than most area pros. Basically, you pay $45 for an hour studio session or $65.00 for up to 90 minutes on location and we shoot a couple hundred shots. Or, for $90 we will start out with studio shots and then hit the road to go on location and spend up to three hours shooting. Next,  I upload all the shots to Miller's Pro Lab and you look at them online, choose the ones you like and order all the photos you want in a variety of sizes. You will be able to order a variety of textures from lustre and fine linen to canvas. (click here for pricing examples)

The price you pay for prints is considerably lower. For example my 5x7's range from $10 to $15.00 each rather than the $20-$50 range you'll find elsewhere.  It's a self-service approach where you are in charge of ordering only what you want. But, if you would rather, I can do all the work of ordering your prints and packages for you after you select the poses you want for an additional $50.00.

Fulltime photographers  have to make a living. They have rent, advertising, utilities, equipment and lots of other bills to pay. They can hold your hand, schedule your session and give you all the advice you need for beautiful results. They are NOT ripping you off with their prices. I do not have those expenses and my time is much more limited.

One caution though - if I don't like the results of our time together, I will want to go out again at no additional charge to you. (I'm picky)

Do you have a product or line of products that you need advertising photos for? I can provide you with color or black and white? Cost is $50 per hour with a one hour minimum. I will upload your photos to Millers Professional Lab where you will be able to order as many photos and sizes as you would like. I can also help you develop print advertising, websites and direct mailings.

I rarely shoot weddings. Why not? I do this for relaxation and enjoyment as a creative outlet. Weddings tend to be high-stress and people are usually pretty uptight. Hey, I understand. It's an important day. You may want to consider Amber Gormley if you are looking for someone inexpensive and talented to shoot your wedding.
